A really good nights Catch on Friday 1st May with 27 species and overall 85 Moths caught. There were 7 new for the year 3 of these new for Garden taking My 2026 Garden tally to 66. New for the year were Scobipalpa ocellatella-Beet Moth caught two then a single White Ermine only the second one ever 1st was in June 2016, a single Chinese Character known as a Bird Dropping Moth, them my favorite Tortrix a rather large Ancylis badiana-Meadow Hook-wing, new for the Garden were Coptotricha marginea-Branble Blotch-miner a single Bucculatrix nigricomella-Daisy Tuft and two Mompha epilobiella-Buff Mompha this one being the third Mompha Sp caught this year. Other highlights were 2 Emperor Moths to the Lure one caught one flew in and off, 2nd Tinea trinotella-Triple-spotted Nest-moth, 3 Garden Carpets, 2 Muslin Moths and the second Ruby Tiger of the year, 14 Epiphyas postvittana-Light Brown Apple-moth, 3 stunning Brimstone Moths and two Waved Umber second Red Twin Spot Carpet and the second and third Aphomia sociella-Bee Moth finally a record 17 Shuttle Shaped Darts in trap. Garden list now stands at 307sp
