CRIMSON SUNBIRD (vigors)

 Goa India March 2011, another stunning Sunbird, this is the hardest one to find.

VIGOR'S SUNBIRD

Juvenile male taken at Bondla, another good site for this species is Baga Hill around the hotels just up from the Arpora-Baga Road.

Several races this one, re-named Vigor's, all the races look totally different, so a split would be good.

Now called Vigor's Sunbird, the rarest Sunbird in Goa i saw a couple of stunning males, but they are hard to pin down being very active and flighty.

New bird for us on this visit, we saw three in all, the best one while we ate lunch in Baga Village, it was feeding in a tree in full view for several minutes,and i had left the camera back in the room.
