Well here we go again, four days of birding before going back to work, Rufford Park Notts on this cold and dark 1st January 2009

NUTHATCH
BOULTHAM MERE
A NEW SPECIES FOR THE AREA.
I first heard the nutter calling and after a few seconds it came into view, showing really well for several minutes and still calling, it then flew off towards Goat farm, we could still hear it calling though distantly, we then walked around the tip and i saw a small bird come from the trees at the back of the tip, it was the nutter it flew right past us over the Railway and off over Lincoln heading North.
