The pictures on this blog are of birds taken in the Uk or abroad, The Moths from my current Garden i have added other forms of wildlife which includes a few Flowers, Orchids, Fungi, Animals, Butterflies, Insects and Dragonflies,The older pictures were taken with a Coolpix 995 and 4500, then a Canon D20 with a Canon 100-400, a Canon D40 and a 7D with a Sigma 150-500 DG OS. I now use a Canon 7D mk11 with a Sigma 150-600 Sports. Most of the Moth Pics are taken with my Phone.

GARDEN MOTHS

I first started Mothing at Boultham Mere back in 1995 then in my Garden at Shakespeare Street the same year, we Mothed for two years at the Mere but i kept on in my garden until 2013. I caught a total of 314 in that Garden. We then moved House in August 2015 but i let the Mothing lapse, i bought a Trap in July 2025 and Started again in this Garden. I use a twin 20w actinic in a white plastic trap. Total caught as of 15th March 2026 280

This Mega Pratincole gave stunning views over two weekends at Frampton Marsh.
It is a new bird for Lincolnshire and only the 6th British record.
