TRUMPETER FINCH

A mega at last, though i was on a plane coming back from two weeks in Turkey when it was found, still present this morning so we drove the 3 hours to languard Point in Suffolk and had stunning views as we arrived, very hard to photograph but perched long enough on this concrete post to rip off two shots, awesome. 22nd May 2005.

SANDWICH TERN

Every first sunday for the last ten years we have done a bird race at Boultham Mere the record stands at 83 species, despite only recording 74 species this year we had a good list of scare birds for the reserve including Wheatear, Arctic Tern a Turnstone only the second record and this spanking Sandwich Tern that flew in at 10.30am. it landed on the raft and sat for the next half hour before flying off North.
