We decided on a holiday again to Dalyan Turkey, having gone in May for the last two years we had to go in September this year as we did the GAMBIA in March, it was a holiday rather than a birding holiday, but i still saw 114 species with two new birds, Greater Spotted Eagle and Semi-collared Flycatcher. I managed to get out every morning for two hours and occasionally a hour or two on the balcony over looking the Lycian Tombs across the river, we visited Hamit for the Kingfisher and i had two mornings in the Liquid Amber Forest of Teperasi. We visited quite a few ruins and added the Temple of Artimis to our list of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Hamit Village along the river.
As well as these two we saw several sp of Dragonflies and Damselfies along the river, also Plain Tiger, Two tailed Pasha Scarce Swallowtail and Swallowtail, several whites Clouded Yellow and hundreds of Langs Short tailed Blue.

Jersey Tiger

Found by Ilker in the canyon, we also saw a Red Underwing sp, and several Butterflies including Plain Tiger and Swallowtail.

Bat sp Saklikent gorge, our friend Ilker Erkan found a couple of dead bats, we then came across this one still alive, it had an injury just above its right arm, and there is blood on the stones around it, slightly bigger than a pip?

Several of these from thumb to hand size kept me entertained while the wife sun bathed on the beach.

Hundreds of these in the waterways around the resort
