HEN HARRIER

A cracking afternoon despite the weather, we came across this 2nd Winter Male Hen Harrier, while looking for Swans, we then had a Peregrine and a Merlin, taken on 800asa weather lousy.
Note the brown feathering in the back and along the wing coverts and primarys. Nov 2007

Red Kite

Sutterby, near Hagworthingham Lincs
A very dull day hence the poor pics, we first saw the Kite on our way to the coast so stopped again on the way back, we watched it try to snatch a dead Rabbit off the field.
All pics heavily cropped as quite distant.

Red Kite

Typical November day, cold, windy and some rain, winters on its way.
