LESSER COUCAL

Much smaller than the Greater Coucal i have seen in India, the juveniles looked like large billed cuckoos

The only ones we saw, moved through the scrub along Happy Beach Khao Lak

Always distant apart from 2 right over our heads as it was hammering in down in Khoa Lak Village

THAILAND OCTOBER 2013

Two weeks around the Khoa Lak area Thailand visiting 3 water falls and two national parks plus several mountains and caves.
Just sorting through the pics I got, this has been the worse country I have been to for taking pictures everything very flighty and always quite distant.

BROWN SHRIKE

Should be of the race confusus, we also saw several of the race lucionensis they have a greyish blue looking forehead, have a pic of it when I get through them

Very common in whole area, even in the hotel grounds which were quite sterile, two races seen these presumed confuses and the grey headed lucionensis, also superciliosus occur in the south and cristatus anywere, sub-species can be a headache.

Very common in Thailand, around the towns and hotels, hopping around the footpaths

Here's just some of the stunning Butterflies we saw in Khao Lak Thailand, there were many hundreds of Butterflies every were we went, even the large ones sat on the wall of our room.
