YUCATAN MEXICO NOVEMBER 2010
Two weeks this November at the Riu Lupita Playercar, not the best time of year to go really, its there winter so most of the Mexican stuff has moved out and most of the Yank woodwarblers have passed through, we saw around 125 species but it was hard work, the Golf course is a great place with several ponds but we got chucked off it most mornings so probably missed loads of stuff as we had over 100 species here alone. We also birded the Mayan ruins around Coba, Tulum and Chichen Itza, but the mass of people and the surrounding woodlands being fenced off caused us problems, we also had 4 hours in Jardin Botanico which only added a poor four new birds.
CHICHEN ITZA
MORELETS CROCODILE
WHITE NOSED COATIMUNDI
BLACK IGUANA
Quite a few on Golf Course, but hundreds in the open areas of the ruins, the Juvs are bright Green.
