YELLOW CROWNED NIGHT HERON.

Odd ones on the bridge between the two hotels, They roost in the trees along edge of hotel into the Mangroves.

TURKEY VULTURE

Not as many seen this time in Cuba, only odd ones standing around Hotel.











CUBAN EMERALD

Only the coolpix with us when this little Beauty decided to sit still for ten minutes and Preen. Guardalavaca Village.

MOTH

Out side on our room wall, unidentified Moth Sp Cuba, large moth about 100mm across wings

RED LEGGED THRUSH

Sat above us in the Mares Bar Cuba, normally very flighty.

NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD

BROWN PELICAN

Brown Pelicans flew over hotel in Cuba, nearly missed them.


TARANTULA

Not sure which Tarantula Sp this one is as there appears to be 21 Indigenous species of Tarantula in Cuba, it may be a Bronze Tarantula.

TERMITE'S

CUBA DECEMBER 2016.
Two weeks of hot sunshine with wind and rain, and some very good birds, The Termites build these mud homes in the trees, this is a small one we saw a massive one about four feet down and two feet across, suspended in the crook of a tree.

Common enough were ever there's water, or in this case a bare dry field right next to main road.



COMMON WOODSHRIKE

Breeds in Arpora Woods, have found several nests with eggs in over the years.


CRIMSON BACKED SUNBIRD

Adult males are just Stunning, this tatty looking one has just had an early morning dew bath.


STRIATED HERON

Always around our pool or lake at Marhina.

CHESTNUT TAILED STARLING
Two races that should be split into two full species, this one is Malabaricus, Grey Headed Starling, the other race is blythii, Malabar White Headed Starling or Blyth's Starling.
