SORA

GIBRALTAR POINT LINCOLNSHIRE
PHOTOS BY DEAN EADES
Found last sunday and showing on and off all week, having to work all week and not being able to get has been a real gut renching experience.
We arrived at 8.10am planning to spend the whole of the next two days looking for this bird if it did not show but less than an hour later we had seen it, though only briefly and through trees as it fed in long grass.
Was that going to be the last we saw of it, it could be elusive dissapearing for long periods, after a few minutes it showed briefly again and then swam out in front of us giving stunning views, we waited and again saw it through the grass briefly, then amazingly right in front of the 50 or so birders present it flew onto the grass bank in full view and walked up the bank stopping and looking back across the pool at us, as it got to the top it again looked back then went over the top never to be seen again that day, superb bird stunning views and a crippler for the County
