HYKEHAM LINCOLN.
A small Heron type bird was reported to my friend Brian Eke who phoned me on Thursday 20th April, and asked if i would go and take a look, i walked the drain several times and turned to go back to the road when it flew over my head circled the drain and landed, i could not believe my luck a stunning adult Night Heron, i managed to get a couple of birders to the site before dark and we all had stunning views.
It then flew in at 8.20 on Friday, 8.30 on saturday but 8.10 on Sunday when it gave its best ever views. The Night Heron was first flushed from the drain on saturday 15th April and has returned to feed on this drain for the last 9 evenings.
